John Fielder’s photograph together with Robert Wogrin’s paintings and drawings make a spectacular book. The pair directs how Colorado’s fourteeners were originally named and then changed through time. John Fielder’s photos are as outstanding as ever.

Win/Loss Analysis
This book is all about the deal. Do you win? Why or why not? The author describes how to analyze a deal in very straightforward terms. I wanted the art to reflect the analysis — Win vs Loss — and the colors to be bold and direct. This is a beautiful book. It also won an IPPY award!

Own Your Time
I was pulled in to design the cover of this book. The topic is how to use your time wisely. So I looked for an image that represented time in a simple but unusual way/ I like the clean lines and simple colors of this title.

Unapologetic Woman
This book is about encouraging women not apologizing for everything. It was a difficult concept to depict on the cover, so we used a maze and the (^) sign to emphasize the “un” part of apologetic. The interior picked up on the cover art and used pull quotes and short stories to entice and pull the reader through the book.

Your Keys to Moving On
Joan Rogliano has created a book for divorced, first-time home buyers. She asks and reviews the tough questions. The design needed to be clean and simple. The information needs to be understood quickly. The book is all about opening doors for people moving on to new challenges. Due out summer 2017.
Presidential Deceit
This is the second book in a five-part series. The first two books were released and were wildly popular. We then decided to pull all the books together with a unifying design. The next three books (unreleased) were to look similar to the first two titles. This is a retooling of the second cover. The common elements are the “Hyrum Laney” lines at the bottom, the overlapping image (in this case the flag) and the large sans serif title font. The third book is due out mid-2017, the others by end-2017.

American Society for Virology Meeting
This tri-fold brochure publicized an annual scientific meeting in Fort Collins. I worked with scientists and organizers to design a brochure that incorporate a scientific feeling as well as highlight Fort Collins. The images came from CSU public relations (free usage if credit given) and scientific literature (the circular structures).
Heart of Fire: An Intimate Journey of Pain, Love, and Healing
This is an incredibly inspiring book detailing the life of a woman overcoming a childhood accidental burning. At age 9 she was badly burned by a water heater. She dedicates her life to not hiding in the shadows and turns this accident into a vocation to help other girls overcome obstacles. Her camp, Angle Fire, is highly regarded as a premier camp helping girls with self-esteem. Lesia Stockall Cartelli has been featured on Good Morning American and CNN. As a designer I needed a book design that inspired the reader and didn’t overcome the text. The design is simple and classic with a few completely Lesia touches.
