This is a motivational book about a 19-year-old entrepreneur. At 19 he has accomplished many things some people spend their entire lives accomplishing. The author states he has a master’s degree from the School of Hard Knocks. From the stories he tells, I believe him. For the design, I kept thinking, “Go big or go home.” The slogan on the left hand pages is a reaccuring theme throughout the book. Meant to inspire. Chapters open with large numbers that extend past the page. The author wants to make an impression and not have the reader get stuck on his youth. Book is due out Spring 2016.

Another Buster Blank book. As I design this book, I try to think of the reader. The goal is to keep them reading and turning pages. I make the type a bit larger and add artwork for a more light hearted feel. I also converted the book into an ebook available on Amazon and Nook.

This book talks about people doing the same thing everyday, but expecting different results. It discusses how to “jump the track” and get moving in a better direction. As a designer, illustrating time is tricky. I used a spiraling “Alice in Wonderland” type clock to give a timeless feel.

I book about investing and making the most of our resources. The Ben Franklin peak-a-boo worked fantastic on the cover and I was able to carry it through to the interior. This book contains some detailed information. The trick for me to make the text navigatable the text for the reader.

No one can take photos like John Fielder. This book is a celebration of wildflowers in Colorado. As a designer, I kept the design simple to let the photography be as big and wonderful as it could be. This title is due out spring 2016.

This is a memoir about a women who started an escort service in Vegas. We needed to create a cover that drew in the reader, but didn’t turn them off, either. Lots of images, but how do we tell the whole story on the cover without exposing too much.
